The transitional period between seasons can be a tough time in terms of fashion. Colors, patterns, and fabrics are always changing. For example, you aren’t going to wear your favorite candy cane sweater in February and you aren’t going to wear your sunflower dress in October. Don’t get me wrong, I am all about breaking the rules, but some rules just cannot be broken. It is important to have a good understanding of “season-less prints”. Prints that can live all year round and be worn rain or shine, day or night.

Lets start with some basics. First up, stripes. Stripes can achieve several different types of statements whether youre going for a nautical boatneck top or a chunky cowlneck sweater. Polka dots will do the same. As long as you choose the right color palette, these prints are appropriate for all seasons.

As far as animal prints go, they can fall all across the spectrum. Snakeskin, however, is the perfect trans print. Even adding just a small touch adds a big statement. Its edgy, chic, and can take any outfit to the next level.

Finally, there is paisley. Perhaps the most timeless pattern I can think of, Paisley will never ever go out of style. Below is my modern take on the print with my flowy shift dress from Free People. The ruffled feminine details can easily update classic silhouettes when used as a trim along the hemline and sleeve cuffs.
