Fall Runway Recap

It’s that time of year again! New York Fashion Week is just around the corner, and by just around the corner, I mean 2 DAYS. I am so excited to see all of the Spring/Summer 2016 Collections, BUT, I think it is important to do a quick recap of what we saw on the Fall runways. There were plenty of Victorian, Gothic, and Bohemian influences as well as some Space Cadet couture and Medieval Muses. Now don’t get too overwhelmed with all this runway hype. I’ve made it easy for you by narrowing down Fall Fashion into two major concepts: feminine and masculine. On the feminine side you will find anything from Victorian tailoring and high-necked lace blouses to flared denim and fringed suede vests. Fashion empowering a true woman at any decade. On the masculine side you will find oversized moto-jackets, matching pantsuits, and skinny neckties, proving that a woman can do anything a man can do, even when it comes to fashion. Below is a simple wish-list that should cover most of your fall necessities, no matter what side of the spectrum you wish to fall. And stay tuned for some upcoming recaps of NYFW Spring Collections!

Faux-Fur Collar Scarf

Faux fur, as soft and luxurious as the real thing. Fur has been found all over the runway for a few years now. Wear it around your neck, as a coat, or even a vest.

Floral Print Ruffle Blouse

Can you get any more girly than this? Embrace the high-neck and ruffled accents with a Victorian inspired blouse. Channel your inner Marie Antoinette! I found this one at Topshop.

Coin Purse

When it comes to bags this season, the smaller the better. Try a nice coin purse for size. I’m loving the black cherry color of this Brahmin McKenna bag.

This beloved classic is back in full force. Mary Janes must make an appearance in your shoe closet this season.

By now I hope you’re seeing some 70s style influences, and if not, these earrings should do the trick. It’s all about the drop. Enough said.

I think we can end our fem wish list with a nice pink bucket bag by Rebecca Minkoff. Try incorporating some pastels with your accessories for a prim and proper look.

Suede Loafers

Loafers are probably the best alternative to the giant pair of bunny slippers every girl has hidden in her closet. They are ritzy, charming, and extremely cozy.

Quilted Moto Jacket

This is probably my number one item on my wishlist for fall. A classic moto jacket can make any outfit look so much more.. badass???

Cropped Trousers

The age of the skinny jeans is soon coming to an end and the wide leg is taking over. Flared bell-bottoms and cropped culottes are all anyone is wearing for fall. Find a matching jacket to go with it and you’ve got yourself a full on pantsuit.

Nothing makes me happier than taking a stroll through the falling leaves with a giant Over-sized Sweater and a warm cup of hot cocoa (sorry ladies I am not a pumpkin spice latte kind of gal). The oversized sweaters are back in this season and I am happier than ever.

Ok I know what you’re thinking.. WTF? But you will start seeing more and more neckties and skinny scarves paired with this seasons chiffon blouses. If you’re feeling ballsy enough you can even buy your own!

Harness Moto Boots

What better to go with your moto jacket than a pair of moto boots? Personally, I think the destroyed look makes a great statement.

Longline Vest

Last, but not least, is the classic vest. This season, the longer the better. You can layer up so many pieces and it’s a great addition when you’re trying to stay warm.

That about wraps it up for my Fall Runway Recap. I hope this will help guide you through some cold weather staples and inspire your impending wardrobe for the fall season. Like I said, stay tuned for some upcoming videos, pictures, and recaps of New York Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2016 Collections (WHICH STARTS IN 2 DAYS!!).
